Description

Access Science offers encyclopedic entries on 1000s of different topics. In addition, the databse contains a scientific dictionary with over 100,000 entries as well as a biographical section with biographies of over 2000 scientists. Each article contains sub-section navigation, active links to other entries in the encyclopedia, and extensive illustrations/figures. Articles can be printed and as well as e-mailed.

Other helpful features include a "student center" (includes essay ideas, a larger topical study guide, and study guides for the Advanced Placement exams), an image gallery, a news section, and a scientific RSS feed.


Coverage

Access Science is the online version of the 20 volume McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology and The McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Scientific & Technical Terms-- two of the one of the more trusted sources for science information in academia. Articles are written by leading researchers in the field and include the latest updates and revisions. Entries are reviewed frequently and updated accordingly.

In addition to the encyclopedic entries, Access Science contains current events articles and issues from the most recent Science News, hundreds of hyperlinks to trusted websites, and a podcast audio exploration section.
